Mayor Ekeke Attends Nigerian Army WASA Event in Ovim

On Friday, the Executive Mayor of Isuikwuato Local Government Area, Hon. Chinedu Ekeke, attended the West African Social Activities (WASA) event, organized by the Nigerian Army Language Institute in collaboration with the 143 Ranger Battalion, at Ovim, Isuikwuato.

 

The event featured a rich display of West African heritage, including cultural expositions, presentations, traditional dance performances, and a wide variety of indigenous cuisines representing diverse ethnic groups, cultures, and tribes across West Africa. Highlights of the celebration also included an exciting tug-of-war competition and the presentation of awards to outstanding soldiers.

The awards were presented by the Special Guest of Honour, Rtd. Lt. Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, and the Mayor of Isuikwuato, Hon. Chinedu Ekeke, in recognition of excellence, discipline, and service within the Nigerian Army.

The occasion attracted top-ranking officials from various military and security agencies, including the Commander, 143 Ranger Battalion, Lt. Col. Buda Magaji; the Commanding Officer, Nigerian Army Language Institute, Ovim, Col. Musa Shuaibu; the Commanding Officer, 14 Brigade, Ohafia, Col. A. A. Angu; as well as representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Isuikwuato Division, NSCDC, NDLEA, and other security formations.

The event further reinforced the spirit of unity, cultural appreciation, and strong civil-military relations within Isuikwuato and beyond.
